Content-Generated Advertising is a new type of Contextual Advertising. Traditionally, an ad can be associated with targeted keywords, and an ad tag tries to extract keywords from a Web page and displays relevant ads. The keywords tend to be narrowing a page's content and doesn't reflect semantics of content. On the other hand, Content-Generated Advertising uses the semantics of content, categorizes the content using well-known taxonomies (IAB Categories or product categories, etc.) and matches ads by category.
